Shelvey is a smashing footballer. And is much better than noble.

Team for the tournament, if they're all fit. Fuck Carrick and Cahill, we're not going to win the thing, so give these lads a tournament together and build for the next one. Plenty of pace and bite in there, and I think Shelvey looks the real deal this season, was superb against Man United yesterday.

Any Englishman playing in the Premiership is selected unless your Mark Noble.
He should give them one more chance and if not selected fuck off and play for Ireland.
JOHN FUCKING JO FUCKING SHELVEY - there must be some FA rule banning anyone called Johnjo from ever playing for England.

It's not surprising. When was the last time that England could put together a team with more than one or two world-class players?

Vardy is bang average and so is Gibbs and Mason.

Are you kidding me, this team looks mustard!

Hart

Gibbs Clyde

Cahill. Smalling.

Vardy. Delphi.

Walcott. Rooney. Sterling.

Kane.

Look at the pace on that team. Going forward we'll be a handful!

In the Euro's we'll be one of the best counter attacking teams there! I like it. Think we'll do well!

To be fair Texas would moan no matter what as he doesn't have a life.

Pick Terry and Ashley Cole instead.

No-one cares about the English football team anymore.

He has his shortcomings but have thought for a long time that Tomkins is underrated. Apart from anything else he is pretty quick for a central defender.

I feel for woy a little - he doesn't have an abundance of talent at his disposal. But I also see this group as a massive missed opportunity to test different partnerships and combinations. It's by far the easiest qualification group we are likely to ever get, and yet we've more or less stuck to thecsame line ups. Why not see what happens if rooney doesn't play? Why have players like our noble and Tomkins been overlooked despite frequent shortages in those areas? You may uncover somethinf.

Football isn't about your best XI players, but finding the best combination available to you and I really don't feel hodgson has exploited this chance well

Luke Shaw over Cresswell? Some things don't change. Not a squad to strike fear is it, but then the options are thin to begin with I suppose.

the barn owl needs to start barkley in the next game. it's time to stop treating him like a luxury sub and make him the focal point of the midfield. no doubt instead it'll be delph, carrick and milner and we can carry on yawning

Haven't watched an England game since 1996. Overpaid, under talented twats who have no idea what pulling on the shirt should mean. C;ubs putting players before country so you NEVER get the best team.

Sorry thought when you said the system you meant the Premierleague.

Were you going that like I did?

No, I'm not.

Re: England Squad ...Underwhelming...!!!
You're confusing the power of our domestic league with the potential power of the national side.

English sides have been pushing English boys out for years, yes they are all bring players through but a lot are not English by birth now.

The ones that do come through get the microscope because they're all we got but we should leave them and let them play they're football.

There really is no easy answer that seems palatable to all, maybe we should do what the Germans did and fuck off for a tournament or two then come back trained up.

Like Monk, I see absolutely no problems with the England squad. Good luck lads but I can see no real joy past the QF's if we get that far.

Monk~koknee 6:59 Mon Aug 31
Re: England Squad ...Underwhelming...!!!
No problem with that. Good luck to them.

My opinion remains that we remain a long way behind the best teams when we should really be in a position to compete with them. That is clearly not the fault of the players who have been selected. Something wrong in the system somewhere.

Johnson 6:57 Mon Aug 31
Re: England Squad ...Underwhelming...!!!
But what are we going to Monk?

We ain't as good as our league, just see how the boys do. They're young, WOY looks like he wants to try people so let's let him.

Re: England Squad ...Underwhelming...!!!
Good enough to beat Slovenia and Macedonia but not good enough to beat the likes of Germany, Spain or even Italy.

And that is not a moan. It is stating a realistic opinion.

If I were moaning I would be lambasting Roy and the FA as being penny pinching, two-bob, unambitious cunts.

On the other hand I am not too fussed about following England anyway.
